Our Community
Community has always been at the centre of the Smitty's values. Throught various initiatives our team engages with the local communities to give back. Over time Smitty's is proud to have donated to food banks, mental helth initiatives, women's crisis services and hospitals.
Giving back to the community is something that our founding family, the Schmitdts, were passionate about and we're proud to carry on the legacy of charitable giving to various fundraising initiatives.
YMCA Barrie
2026 marked an exciting new partnership with the Barrie community. As the local YMCA prepared to open its new facility on Bayview Drive in Barrie. Smitty's was honoured to furnish the sponsor lounge—a space designed to bring people together. The Barrie team showcased their interior design expertise by creating a timeless, welcoming environment where YMCA members can relax, connect, and spark meaningful conversations for years to come.
The new Barrie YMCA has been intentionally designed to remove barriers and ensure every individual feels welcomed, supported, and able to belong. Smitty's is proud to be part of this important community project.

Saugeen Hospice
Smitty's is proud to support the Saugeen Hospice, a community-built residence that will bring compassionate end-of-life care closer to home for Hanover area residents, with construction on the new Brockton facility beginning in September 2026.
In the fall of 2025, Smitty's hosted its annual Warehouse Sale outside our Hanover location. On opening day, we held a community BBQ, serving hamburgers and refreshments in exchange for donations supporting the construction of the new Saugeen Hospice. We were grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this important community project, which will serve families across Grey-Bruce and the surrounding region.

Hanover and District Hospital Foundation
In 2024, Smitty's proudly celebrated our 75th Anniversary with a series of events marking this significant milestone. One of the highlights was a Classic Car Show held in August, where we welcomed the Hanover community to join the celebration.
With the support of the Hanover Lions Club and their dedicated volunteers, we hosted a community BBQ that raised funds for the Hanover District Hospital while serving lunch to our guests. More than 50 classic vehicles registered for the event, filling the parking lot around our Hanover showroom and helping create a memorable day for the community.

Cambridge Memorial Hospital
Proudly supporting the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation (CMHF) in its mission to enhance local healthcare for patients and families in our community. In September 2024 the Kitchener team hosted a tent sale with the goal to raise money for the CMHF. Bounce radio host "Sarge" was with us live on location for the event, where we were able to announce live on air to come out and check out the deals with a portion of out proceeds going toward local care via the CMHF.
