Trend Showcase Gallery 2014

Every year at the Furniture Show there is a trend showcase gallery that is put on by the show.  They pull different products together from different manufacturers to showcase a fabulous look. Here are the trends that were showcased at the Toronto Furniture Show 2014.

Contemporary and bold use of colour.  The Dutalier chair with the platform bed add a cool contemporary look. The bold use of complimentary colours of green and orange keep this room alive and vibrant.

Southwest themes of rustic leather with a great southwest patterned rug make this room comfortable and casual. The use of bold orange is still used but instead of being contemporary it is warm and inviting. What a fabulous family room for showing off your personality.

Rustic - texture is so big right now. Big bold use of texture and wood. What a fabulous kitchen with the bold use of colour and big bold rustic texture. You can see this look translated in dining tables, bedroom suites and occasional tables.

Bold and beautiful. Durham has this 2 toned white with black bedroom suite and the trends are matching it with the Pantone 2014 Colour of the Year - Radiant Orchid: fun, young and so cool.

Metal is so good. Mixing metal with fabrics, colours and wood is even better. This is how to create your own style. Amisco has amazing metal and wood tables that are Canadian made steel and the fabric pattern is such a great way to show who you are and be so incredibly comfortable.

Lounge look is fabulous in so many homes. Drop the sofa, loveseat, chair combination that is so traditional. If you love club chairs and sitting at your favourite lounge, bring it home. This look is easy to create, easy to live with and so adaptable to your lifestyle. Colour is what unifies the look here but it could easily be done with neutrals as well.

Styling does not have to be done to entire house or room, think of a space that you can add some personality to and make it your own. Graphic lettering or words are so hot. Go bold. Make a statement. Find a comfortable chair for reading or watching tv. Add in function as well with this small desk for homework or bill paying.

This is a perfect example of mixing traditional with sexy new and hot. The houndstooth pattern on the swivel chair and cubed ottoman are big and bold scale placed on a sleek swivel chair. Mix it with simple lines of a sofa and chair and a traditional patterned rug and you have a look that claims who you are. Nobody will ever see this look and know when you created it. It is a trend that is totally personality based.

Even country has been updated. This farmhouse country style is updated with the bold use of painted furniture in bold colours. Don't skimp on the colour use it everywhere, walls, lamps, accessories. Your braided rug that you thought was out of style can easily be updated by this look.
